Oh it's been a really good year, proud to say that we'd made the troop better. Throughout the hardship, we managed to uphold the legacy and traditions of the troop.

  

The Renaissance: First Kuala Lumpur 103rd Anniversary Campfire

The Renaissance

        The Seladang Scout Group is celebrating its 103rd Anniversary this year, ever since the fire that had burnt down our second home, the Scout Den few years back then, the past seniors and us have taken various of initiatives to rebuild the troop. Many parties claimed that the troop has been misguided over time with the fallaciousness of the traditions we practice, so we'd decided to revise the matter. And as for now, we've managed to base our troop at the temporary Scout Den, which we call the Scout Cabin, located next to the IT Laboratory.

        The campfire was held on the 7th of July 2012, attended by about 200 current and past Victorians, 100 outsiders and 50 family members. The preparations of the campfire was quite hassle with the absence of the current troop leaders, which relates to the disciplinary issues filed against them. They had been forboden from entering the school ground which results in difficulties to manage the event's preparations. Nevertheless, the Troop Leaders managed it from distance and we had our Senior Patrol Leaders to take charge of the boys with consideration of the Troop Leaders' instructions, the boys did not give up either but they worked even harder to make it happens, and with God's will, it happened.

Even without the presence of the current TLs during the drill, the troop did their best and managed to put on a fantastic show. Kudos to those who were involved!

The bamboos site unsuspectingly had become the mosquito breeding spot. We had decided to move the bamboos to the site behind the computer lab, right away after knowing it. The boys had developed their teamwork through this activity

The Scavenger Hunt was successfully done on the 25th of February, the boyscouts had shown their ability to work together with their patrol members throughout the activity.
